If you are an individual who recently tested positive for COVID-19, or if you have been in contact with someone who recently tested positive, you are now able to receive a notification on your phone that you have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive person. This notification is sent to you by the Protect Scotland app. You will not be required to keep the app on your phone. The app is designed to notify you if you have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive person.

It is no longer necessary to open the app and click on the COVID-19 positive contact notification. You can now receive the notification directly on your phone. You will not receive the notification if you are not using the app. This is to ensure that nobody can track your location.
