Projekt Z: Beyond Order is a premium action game for PC made by game developer 314 Arts. It's a first-person shooter set during World War 2. In it, players will control one of multiple characters on a mysterious island where Germans are conducting a dark, secret project.

Similar to World War Z, Projekt Z: Beyond Order features a zombie theme that is central to its plot and gameplay. It also boasts open-world exploration and survival mechanics, along with its main campaign, which supports online co-op and can be experienced in multiple story arcs.

Nazi zombies

In a nutshell, this first-person zombie shooter WW2 game is set on a mysterious German island—the titular Projekt Z—where Nazis are creating zombies. You play as one of the four unique character classes on the island who is facing a dangerous situation. Armed with unique abilities, you must do your best to survive fighting zombie enemies and uncover the island's secrets.

The game features a main campaign with multiple story arcs that you can play with friends via online co-op. Your central base is a HUB where you can build shops to buy and sell items, upgrade characters, and craft essential consumables for your adventures. The game also includes extensive customization options for firearms, allowing you to upgrade guns and melee weapons at the Hideout workbench to suit your playstyle perfectly.

During your missions, you'll need to survive the island's dangers day by day while scavenging valuable resources such as weapons, blueprints, gear, medical supplies, ammo, and more. You can choose to sell your loot at the shop or keep it for your own use. Be aware that you must return to the hideout safely after collecting loot; if you die before reaching the basement, all your loot will be automatically lost.

Explore the island and engage in epic battles

If you want a break from the story or after completing a level, try the Free Roam Mode. In this mode, you can explore the farthest reaches of the island, engage in intense battles against relentless hordes of zombies, loot a variety of valuable items and blueprints, take on exciting side missions, and discover so much more. 

Regarding its drawbacks, Projekt Z: Beyond Order features general mature content, including graphic depictions of blood, gore, intense violence, and strong language. Such content may not be appropriate for all audiences, especially younger players or those sensitive to these themes.

What’s in the new update

There are new additions to the recent update of the game, mainly focusing on the weapons and the zombies. In the weapons update, the versatile AS44 assault rifle joins the fight, effective at both close and mid-range battle. There’s also the MG42 machine gun, delivering suppressive fire and controlling areas with its high magazine capacity. The game’s first melee weapon, the Table Leg, enables brutal close-quarters zombie takedowns and new tactics.

Addressing player feedback, the game developers added a new Grunt variant to diversify the zombie population and balance the number of Officers encountered. Adding to the challenge, the Radioactive Zombie, also known as the Jumper, emerges as a new special infected with unique behaviors. The level design also gets a big makeover: immersive environments and landscapes; atmospheric lighting, and detailed maps are developed to enhance the gameplay experience even more.
