Polytropos: A Tactical Odyssey is a premium strategy PC game by developer Sea Panda Creative. It is a tactical grid-based roguelike experience that takes inspiration from Greek mythology for its premise and gameplay. In it, players will lead their troops to battle against an ancient enemy in a quest for victory and to be hailed as legendary heroes. 

Legendary quest to herohood 

In Polytropos: A Tactical Odyssey, Olympus calls for aid to help fight against a horde of monsters unleashed by Echidna. You rise to answer the call and will lead your troops in tactical turn-based battles on a hex grid field. Choose from diverse heroes to lead your army, each with unique abilities and strengths that can be further amplified with blessings from the gods, referred to as Patrons. 

Your hero can call upon the blessings of up to four Patrons on each run, and they come in the form of heroic epithets that grant permanent effects to use in battle. You can also achieve unique synergies from specific combinations for greater potency. A couple of things to improve are implementing a more polished UI design and nicer animations to enhance immersion. 

Solid Greek-themed tactical roguelike 

To conclude, Polytropos: A Tactical Odyssey is a solid strategy game that offers tactical depth while still being accessible to newcomers to the genre. It’s easy to get into, and the Greek theme is always nice with these types of games. It’s still a bit rough around the edges, but it’s well worth checking out all the same.
