Planets Nu is a free, commercial multiplayer space game in which you are a commander of your own planet or starbase. You can mine resources, construct starships, manage your population and fight with your opponents.

Play as one of the empires, each with its own unique ships, abilities, and equipment. Some of them can be enhanced with special equipment and upgrades. At the start of the game, you are given a planet, a starbase, and a ship. You will have to manage your planet's population and resources wisely to expand and grow. You can construct starships by selecting various components. All players are attempting to do the same thing, so the fleets will, inevitably, engage in combat from time to time.

You can also battle with your enemies directly on the planet, but if the conflict takes place on the planet's surface, the winner is usually the one who has better fortifications. However, on most planets, it is a good idea to first mine resources from the planet. This will help you prepare for the battlefield and protect yourself from the enemy.

It is possible to communicate with the other players through messages or voice. You can also use various items like lasers, mines, etc. These can help you destroy or defeat the enemies.
