PhotoMath sounds like every high school slacker's wet dream: an app that answers math questions when you point your phone camera at the sum.

PhotoMath supports simple arithmetic, fractions, decimal numbers, linear equations, and certain functions. When the technology works its awesome: solving problems in front of your eyes, then explaining the answer in steps. The character recognition isn't great though, making it frustrating to use at times.

An interesting study aid, but not a perfect solution.
