PhoneRescue is a free app that extends iOS's and iCloud's existing recovery features to let the user recover more than 25 different types of files easily. It's a perfect complement to existing backups, but can also restore some files that you lost without backups. It can even figure out what's missing!

PhoneRescue's primary backup capabilities work via iCloud. By signing in with your own Apple ID, you can restore your data from a backup that's already been made and sent to iCloud. Don't mistake this for being a clone of a feature Apple already provides, though. The app provides more flexibility in how you restore the backup to your phone, letting you select specific files rather than rolling back everything on your phone (excellent for if just some files have been lost). The app can also restore deleted files to an extent, and is excellent for accessing iOS's repair mode.

Overall, PhoneRescue is perfect for anyone who's anxious about losing data. To a lesser degree, it works well for those who have already lost data. Though its reliance on iCloud means it can only fix some of the damage done by a pre-existing phone mishap, PhoneRescue is still a powerful tool that helps protect data as well as recover it.
