Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero – The Liar and the Lost takes place in Ivoire, the same world as the original Phantom Brave, but follows a different set of characters. Players step into the shoes of a mysterious protagonist who becomes entangled in a battle against an encroaching darkness threatening to consume the land. However, pacing issues remain persistent. 

Combat remains at the heart of The Lost Hero, with the gridless tactical system returning. Players move freely within a set range, allowing for more dynamic positioning and strategy. The "Confine" mechanic also returns, letting players summon phantoms into objects. There are new strategic elements, including additional skills, phantom classes, and environmental interactions, adding complexity.
