Parfum Nostalgique is a free role-playing title where you will play as a 265-year-old vampire who has to navigate his own struggles as a supernatural creature while also finding love and friendship in the process. This visual novel from PriRo-Pro is still under development so the story isn’t fully fleshed out yet in this demo.

Much like other visual novels, such as Vacation with Ross and Mr. Receptionist and 3 Seasons, Parfum Nostalgique makes use of interactive elements. The game is still in its early stages but you can expect your choices to affect many aspects of the plot.

Short but engaging

Parfum Nostalgique displays a unique take on your typical romance games. While the story is still quite short, it gives you a proper peek at the overall feel of the plot. There are a number of different characters that you will encounter throughout the duration of the game. Both the characters and the settings are drawn in an attractive, retro 2D art style that players can appreciate, as well.

The dialogue is presented in an easy-to-read manner, as well, so you don’t have to worry about long blocks of text that can strain your eyes. You also have the ability to save your progress, which makes it easier for you to go back to a certain point of the story or come back to where you left off later on.

Keep in mind, however, that installing the game can be pretty tedious. You will first need to extract the game from a ZIP file with your chosen extracting tool. Certain devices will also require you to allow your system to run programs from unknown sources as they won’t be able to recognize and verify the file since it is from an indie developer.

Worth looking forward to

Given that Parfum Nostalgique only presents a small portion of the full story, it’s bound to end on a quick note and leave you wanting more. With stunning visuals and a user-friendly interface that makes reading through dialogue a breeze, you can look forward to how the rest of the story unfolds. Even with the tedious installation, it’s something that can excite players as they wait for the full game.
