A free character-management RPG
PANOPTYCA : Idle RPG Manager is a free-to-play role-playing game by Tesseract Studio. It takes an innovative approach to the RPG genre, as instead of focusing on one hero, you can manage up to eight heroes simultaneously. Each hero has their own adventure in a specific region and can progress independently.
PANOPTYCA : Idle RPG Manager is a smart combination of management, strategy, and RPG in one. To make the most out of your heroes’ growth and progress, you’re going to have to be an efficient manager, able to juggle between several tasks of your brave heroes depending on the situations presented.
Manage a party of bold adventurers
PANOPTYCA : Idle RPG Manager allows you to manage a group of eight heroes. There is a real-time four-view panel observation mode that you can use to directly monitor and oversee your heroes. It can be “idle,” and you can watch them go on with their journey, but when things get heated, you can step in and take direct control of the situation.
As with most RPGs, there are, of course, dungeons sprawling across the world that your heroes can venture into. While your heroes can take these on solo, you can form a two-hero party to complete dungeons that are otherwise difficult to do alone, especially when a tough boss is lurking inside. Each hero has their own specific role, specifically tank, DPS, and healer—so make sure to pair accordingly.
Exploration is another aspect of the game due to the vast number of regions that you can travel to. Each zone offers its own set of monsters and treasures, and as you explore deeper, you can learn more about the game’s lore. While the graphics are old-school, and some players might not appreciate exploring because of it, the content available around this huge world certainly makes up for it.
A good mix of RPG and management gameplay
Overall, PANOPTYCA : Idle RPG Manager offers both RPG and management gameplay elements in one title, which can be both engaging and relaxing at the same time. The game feels more like a “commander” style game, rather than a leveling adventure like most RPG games thrive on. Micromanaging several heroes can indeed be overwhelming, but it’s a necessity if you choose to be very efficient with your time in the game.
Pros
- Control different heroes at once
- Different regions to explore
- Dungeons to dive into
Cons
- Managing heroes can be overwhelming
