Old School RuneScape, or OSRS, is developed and maintained by Jagex, is a faithful revival of the 2007 version of the iconic browser MMORPG, RuneScape. Launched in 2013 after a massive community vote, OSRS brings back the simpler, grittier feel of classic MMO adventuring.

Visually, OSRS is dated by design, embracing the pixelated, low-poly aesthetic that defined early 2000s MMORPGs. The nostalgic charm resonates with older players, though new users may find it archaic. Despite the simplicity, the game is remarkably expressive, with diverse regions, quirky character animations, and a massive world map full of secrets. The soundtrack—composed of nearly 200 tracks is a highlight which is etched into the memories of millions. 

One of Old School RuneScape’s strongest assets is its passionate community. Major content updates are voted on by players, ensuring that the game evolves according to community interests. Frequent updates add new quests, areas, and bosses, while the Grand Exchange keeps the economy vibrant and player-driven. Clan systems, Discord integrations, and social hubs like the Duel Arena and Castle Wars keep the game socially rich.
