Norton Password Manager is a free utility tool developed by Gen Digital Inc. This password management app helps users securely store and organize passwords, credit card details, and other sensitive information in an encrypted online vault. It can also sync saved credentials across supported devices, providing convenient access to important information when needed.

Norton Password Manager offers several security and convenience features to protect stored credentials. On supported devices, users can unlock their vault using biometric authentication, while two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of account security. The app also provides tools to create and manage strong passwords, helping users improve overall password security.

Convenient vault sync and password protection

Norton Password Manager makes password management easier by securely storing credentials in an online vault and automatically filling login details with a single tap. It uses zero-knowledge encryption and two-factor authentication to help safeguard the vault and restrict unauthorized access. The app is free and compatible with supported PCs, tablets, and mobile devices, letting users manage passwords across multiple devices with added security.

The password manager also allows users to sync their complete vault across supported devices for convenient access to saved credentials. Biometric unlock lets users quickly access or recover their vault password using Apple’s Touch ID or Face ID authentication. Its Password Assessment feature evaluates password strength and helps users generate new credentials or replace weak passwords with stronger alternatives that are harder for cybercriminals to crack.

Password reset requirements and privacy

The free version of this password manager can limit the number of vault entries, such as passwords—although any existing entries remain unaffected. Password syncing requires an active internet or mobile data connection and a powered-on device. Biometric authentication is supported on compatible Android and iOS devices with fingerprint authentication, Touch ID, or Face ID enabled—depending on the device and operating system.

Norton Password Manager’s Vault Password Reset is available only on supported Android or iOS mobile devices with the mobile app installed, configured, and linked to a Norton account. Biometric authentication must be enabled in advance for this feature to work. This app respects user privacy and safeguards personal data through its privacy practices. However, biometric features depend on device and operating system compatibility, while password syncing requires an internet or mobile data connection.

Enhanced password protection

Norton Password Manager is a useful password management tool that securely stores credentials in an encrypted vault and syncs them across supported devices. Its Auto-Fill, Password Assessment, biometric unlock, and two-factor authentication features provide convenience and added protection. While the free version may limit vault entries, while biometric features and password syncing depend on device compatibility and internet connectivity, the app is free and supports PCs, tablets, and mobile devices.
