Privacy app for reducing online tracking and profiling

Norton AntiTrack is a premium security app that helps limit online tracking and gives you more control over your digital footprint. It is built for people who want added privacy while browsing without managing complicated settings or changing the way they normally use the internet.

The protection works directly through the Safari browser on your iPhone, where the dedicated extension runs in the background as you surf the web. Once Norton AntiTrack is enabled, it helps prevent websites and trackers from gathering details about your browsing activity, rather than simply clearing your history after a session.

Keeping your digital trail smaller

Norton AntiTrack works through a Safari extension that helps reduce tracking and fingerprinting by websites and browsers. This helps limit the information that can be used to identify and follow you. Once activated, it works in the background while you browse. You can still use your usual Safari tabs and websites as normal, while the extension handles the main tracking controls.

The first layer of protection comes from anti-fingerprinting, which disguises details that can be used to recognize your browser. Tracker & Cookie Blocking works alongside it by stopping supported tracking tools from collecting information about what you do online. That combination matters because cookies are only one part of online tracking. Together, they help reduce the information available for targeted profiling and advertising.

Meanwhile, the Tracking Dashboard gives you a place to check what has been blocked. You can see tracking attempts and other activity detected by the app rather than having the extension operate completely out of sight. If, in a rare instance, a website does not work correctly while tracking protection is enabled, the app's "Fix it" option lets you pause the app for that specific page to get it working again.

Extension setup and protection coverage

Setting up the extension is straightforward and happens directly through the Safari app. After opening Safari, you can go to its Manage Extensions menu and turn on Norton AntiTrack, then allow the extension to work across websites. Once enabled, the tracking protection runs as you browse. From Safari, you can also check whether the app is active on a website and adjust its protection when needed.

When it comes to system compatibility, the software supports iPhones running iOS 16 or later. However, its primary limitation to consider is that the tracking protection works mainly through Safari. As a result, the same anti-tracking and anti-fingerprinting protection does not automatically carry over when you use a different browser or other standalone apps on your iPhone—limiting its coverage outside Safari.

Useful protection but with limited scope

If you rely on Safari for daily web browsing on your iPhone, Norton AntiTrack provides a practical layer of protection against invisible tracking scripts and digital profiling techniques without disrupting your routine. Take note, however, that its anti-fingerprinting controls operate exclusively through its Safari extension, so it will not protect your personal data when you switch to alternative mobile browsers or use other standalone iOS apps.
