Niva is an adventure game that explores the belief that war and violence are unjustifiable. The game places players into the role of a mighty forest god. Your job is to relieve a mysterious infestation in the forest, effectively restoring harmony in the forest and everything living in it. The infestation is described to be shuddersome and moth-like as it is drawn to the conflicts between inhabitants. You must master your skills in observing, nurturing, and withering fascinating plants. These will help you resolve the conflicts that run rampant in the forest.
Majestic gameplay
Niva is a pacifistic exploration game packed with a scenic art style, relaxing music, and straightforward game mechanics. This allows you to take your time in exploring the world’s calming ambiance. You will see that the world’s aesthetic is a vibrant chalk texture, giving it the gameplay an appearance of walking through a 3D painting.
The forest will leave you mesmerized with its plants and animals. The game’s developers, Follow the Feathers, took inspiration from Disney animated classics like Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland as well as Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke. You will be playing the Forest God, a hybrid of deer and lion whose core abilities are to grow and wither plants.
Niva features minimal text. So, your observation skills are the key to your success. The game offers forty-five to one hour of game time. The 3D game is configured to both gamepad and keyboard. Keyboard users must take note that Niva uses the WASD keys and the mouse. You will not be able to configure the game to use the arrow keys and other possible controls you may need. Overall, Niva offers an aesthetically pleasing game that is simple and easy to comprehend, making it suitable for players of all user-levels.
