Monster Chef is a premium action game for PC developed by Studio Pizza. It is a fantasy roguelike adventure that centers around a chef warrior who braves the battlefield in order to hunt monsters to gather ingredients he needs to cook all kinds of dishes back at his tavern.  

Similar to games like Cult of the Lamb, Monster Chef has players go on raids to various locations and face a wide variety of enemies in search of specific ingredients needed to cook different recipes they serve to customers back at their inn. A demo is available for new players to check out. 

Hunt and cook 

Simply put, Monster Chef is an action roguelike cooking adventure wherein you play as Pranzo, a fearless warrior chef who hunts and cooks monsters on the battlefield using his sacred Chef Weapons. You will venture to various unique locations of the lands of Delizia, each with its own set of monsters to encounter and hunt. Take the ingredients you’ve collected back to your inn to serve to your customers. 

The unique aspect of the gameplay is that preparation happens in real-time, adding spices to enemies and cutting them up in hack-and-slash fashion to ready them for cooking. Try a wide selection of recipes to cater to the discerning taste buds and requests of your diverse clientele, which includes humans, orcs, elves, and many others. Some will require rare ingredients that can only be obtained from boss monsters. 

As you progress, invest in upgrades for your inn, transforming it from a simple shack to a fine-dining establishment that will be sought after across the land. On another note, aside from the demo, the game still has no specific release date yet, so you will have to wait a while longer until you get to experience the full version.

All in all, Monster Chef is shaping up to be a fun and engaging action roguelike that will also please fans of cooking games. Collect monster ingredients, try out different recipes, and aim to be the best tavern in the land. Hopefully, the full version will be available sooner rather than later.
