Similar in style to other free browser-based games like agar.io, Mitos.is is a casual top-down online action game. Gameplay focuses on moving around the map eating smaller cells, losing speed along the way. This trade-off on abilities brings tension and decision making, and each quick game teaches players something more. The basic template of this style of game is advanced on within Mitos.is via the addition of guilds, extra modes, and equipment. Cells can be equipped with found weapons and armor, social groups can be joined and four game modes are available. Each is fairly similar but adds some welcome extra content for what is primarily a casual free game in the vein of Snake. Regular updates and limited time seasonal events are also common.
