Metaphor: ReFantazio is a turn-based combat RPG game that was inspired by many great games, such as Persona and Final Fantasy. It comes from the creative minds behind Persona 3,4, and 5, combining the design, story, and gameplay mechanics into one neatly wrapped new game for all players to try. 

Being the first of its kind and the first entry in its series, Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in a unique fantasy world where your journey starts alongside a fairy companion to lift the curse from the kingdom’s lost prince. You must make haste, before all is lost.

Metaphor: ReFantazio features a new unique mechanics and gameplay material not seen before. Players can now take on enemies with the new combination of real-time action and turn-based combat, giving you a unique feel to the game’s overall system. Players can also awaken an Archetype from within, a powerful magical being that will aid you in your quest to claim the throne. However, lower-end devices can struggle with running this game. 

This is a story about power, identity, and division. Euchronia is populated by multiple “Tribes,” each with unique attributes and histories, yet bigotry and social stratification remain rampant. You begin as Will, an orphaned member of the marginalized Elda tribe, thrust into a tournament for the throne. Your journey to unify the kingdom doesn’t just involve battles, as it demands diplomacy, understanding, and forging alliances across diverse peoples. 

A premise for many paths 

With the introduction of the Royal Tournament and many more exciting game modes, Metaphor: ReFantazio promises hours of captivating gameplay and exploration. Though, the game is not suited for younger audiences as it contains blood & gore, partial nudity, and suggestive themes. Not only that, but the difficulty is also a great challenge as it seeks to challenge players to strategize than face danger head-on. 

With dozens of hours to unlock just the main story arc, often stretching beyond 100 hours for completionists, this RPG offers significant replay value. The combination of political choices, tribal alliances, social‑relationship building, and customizable classes provides strong replay incentives. The game has also been tweaked and has brand-new immersive UI, captivating music, and anime cutscenes, giving it the new, fresh look that it strives to boast.
