Medieval Legacy is a premium simulation PC game from developer NineToPlay. It's a life simulator that takes place during the Middle Ages, wherein players will get to experience what it's like living in that era of history. They will start from humble beginnings and build a life and legacy for themselves.

Similar to Northgard or Settlement Survival, Medieval Legacy incorporates city-building elements into its gameplay that will have players build homes and structures as they expand and create a vibrant and bustling town. They will rise through the social ranks and become someone of importance or fall to their ambition. 

Humble beginnings 

In Medieval Legacy, you assume the role of a humble villager with aspirations of rising above your station during the feudalistic Middle Ages. Choose from more than 40 specializations or jobs where your family will build its reputation, such as blacksmithing, farming, and others. Manage their health and hunger, utilize 50-plus traits that influence their attributes, and unlock over 100 unique skills they can use. 

Analyze the dynamic market system and react accordingly to its changes to maximize your advantage and benefits. Interact with other families to gain favor and even form alliances. Be wary of those with ill intent and protect your family from all danger, including jealous rivals and pillaging bandits. Acquire more land and pick from over 20 unique structures to build and help expand your territory. 

Build enough wealth, influence, and authority, and you can have a seat on the throne as king of the kingdom. There are even unique kingly traits that will shape your gameplay depending on which one you choose. One minor quibble with the experience is that the in-game speed and pace feel a little slow, but it's not that noticeable when you're in the thick of it.

All in all, Medieval Legacy comes as a nice surprise, offering a rather compelling experience that's charming and with depth. You can take it easy and enjoy a cozy gameplay, or get into the weeds and aim to become the most powerful and influential family in the entire kingdom—the choice is yours. Suffice it to say, this game gets an easy recommendation and is a must-play.
