Marble Skies is a physics-based game where the player controls a marble and must guide it through a series of levels to reach the end. The game uses a 3D platformer style, where the player must direct the marble and time their jumps to ensure that they successfully get from one platform to another.

There are plenty of examples of ball-based 3D platformers, many of which are based around the premise of a marble puzzle. These include games like Marble Blast Gold and Marble Arena 2. While this game isn’t the most visually impressive marble game around, it does feature some of the tightest controls.

In many ways, Marble Skies takes inspiration from arcade puzzle games of the past. The controls have already been mentioned, but also in the sense that there is no story to play through, just an almost overwhelming number of levels to complete. There are 60 base levels and almost as many bonus levels.

Game modes

There are only really two game modes to experience in Marble Skies — single-player and online player versus player (PvP). However, beyond the base and bonus levels, there are 9 golf levels and a selection of community levels to experience. The game also supports many different types of controllers.

A fun example of this type of game

Marble Skies is far from a unique concept and likely not one of the most visually impressive examples of this type of game available. That being said, the developers have clearly put a lot of work into making the quick and responsive controls as fun as possible, and that is reflected in much of the player feedback.
