Mages of Mystralia is a single-player adventure game that blends vibrant world-building with a compelling magic-based system. Set in the whimsical land of Mystralia, the game follows Zia, a young mage who discovers her powers after an accident and is thrust into a journey of self-discovery while mastering the arcane arts and battling evil forces that threaten her homeland. Developed by Borealys Games, it’s available on PC and gaming consoles. 

Mages of Mystralia functions similarly to games like Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition, Visions of Mana, and UNCHARTED™: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which gives you an immersive adventure gameplay experience. 

Play as a young Zia 

Mages of Mystralia’s plot revolves around Zia who just found out her powers and accidentally used them, leaving the Kingdom of Mystralia in turmoil as magic was banned in her village. Due to this, she was cast out from her homeland, and she embarked on a journey to handle her magical abilities. Later, she was tasked to prevent a massive war between some army trolls and her kingdom. 

During her journey defeating enemies, she’ll meet other mages and discover the power of runes. In this game, you must assume the role of Zia and use the three kinds of runes: Periodic, Bounce, and Homing. Moreover, there are two kinds of enemies in this game: melee and ranged units. Aside from magic, there are also puzzles hidden in this game that you need to solve. 

One of the game’s standout features is its innovative spell-crafting system. Rather than limiting players to predefined spells, the game allows players to create their own magic by combining runes in a customizable spell book. This system offers a refreshing degree of freedom, enabling players to tailor spells to suit their playstyle. However, as the game focuses on magic creation and defeating enemies, it doesn’t have a character development feature.
