A space-themed social deduction game
LOCKDOWN Protocol is a premium action game for PC from developer Mirage Creative Lab. It is a multiplayer social deduction experience set in space and supports up to eight players. In it, players must work together to complete specific tasks before time runs out, while also being wary of certain members who have other ulterior motives.
Similar to games like Among Us and Oh Deer, LOCKDOWN Protocol will test players and their skills of deduction. The actions and decisions they make will determine whether they will complete their objectives and missions or get sabotaged by dissidents.
Dissent in space
LOCKDOWN Protocol is a social deduction game set in space wherein you must work together and communicate to complete a list of tasks within a short time. You can take on one of two roles, with the first being an Innocent who will be striving to accomplish set objectives as best and as fast as you can. Take advantage of various communication tools and gestures to convey messages and commands.
On the flip side, Dissidents will play by the same rules but will be motivated to prevent others from completing their objectives by any means necessary. You're free to do whatever you want to disrupt and cause chaos for your teammates by wasting time, hiding crucial items, or even resorting to plain murder to get what you want. Just be wary of getting caught, or your plans will be revealed.
The game features a stamina system that's connected to your health, which will draw from the latter if you don't have enough. To help with communication, there's also a built-in voice chat to relay messages. However, developers have announced that the game will no longer receive major updates. Bug fixes and cosmetics are guaranteed, but seasonal events, new weapons, and extra music are only under consideration and remain uncertain.
What's new in update 1.0.0
Update 1.0.0 marks the full release of LOCKDOWN Protocol. While it doesn’t introduce any major content, it adds several improvements. The game now supports eight languages, and many visuals have been overhauled, including Pizzushi-related items, the tablet, minimap, Power and Pressure panels, and containers. New sounds for the rice dispenser have also been added.
In addition, players will notice the addition of a Museum in the lobby. This section is designed to honor the community, Kickstarter backers, streamers, and other supporters. Alongside these, the update brings numerous bug fixes to improve overall stability and gameplay experience.
Intriguing and promising
If you like games, such as the aforementioned Among Us and Oh Deer, and are looking for something similar yet more complex, LOCKDOWN Protocol is a promising game that might be what you're looking for. It's a more elaborate experience with plenty of thrills and backstabbing schemes. However, with no major updates planned and future content uncertain, long-term engagement might be limited.
