Ligaw is a free role-playing game where you play as a delivery driver in the Philippines who has stumbled upon an eerie location with hidden secrets and terrifying creatures. This psychological horror game from Raven Studio is set in the first-person perspective so you can fully get into character.

Similar to games like Little Nightmares and Granny, you need to go through a series of locations in Ligaw in order to find keys and other tools that are crucial to your survival. It’s important to note that the game is under development, so improvements will be released over time.

Lifelike design adds chill 

As a student-made indie title, Ligaw portrays a unique perspective with a chilling atmosphere. The game makes use of a simple interface and smooth controls that allow players both old and new to easily navigate their way through the various locations. It also makes use of impressive 3D graphics to create a more lifelike experience that feels like everything is happening right before your eyes.

You will quickly be faced with creepy happenings such as misplaced objects and shadowy figures as soon as you begin playing. There are puzzles scattered around that you need to solve by finding keys or appropriate tools as well. Some objects will be hidden in plain sight while others will require some extra searching in order for you to obtain them. 

While the game does heavily focus on the use of minimal lighting to add a layer of mystery and eeriness, it does make it much more difficult to see some characters or objects that are placed in slightly darker areas. This will make it much more likely for players to miss some details that are important to the storyline or gameplay. 

Great potential for more scares

Overall, Ligaw delivers a storyline that easily reels you in and pairs it with heart-racing gameplay that will keep you on your toes. There are still some improvements that could be made, but the experience this game provides proves how much potential it has. With a number of terrifying scenarios ahead, fans of the horror genre have much to look forward to.
