Lanterns Come to Life is an Augmented Reality (AR) app developed by Shadow Factory for the Legends of the Silk Road Come to Light exhibit at the Canadian National Exhibition. The exhibit features traditional Chinese lanterns that showcase 17 unique stories from countries along the ancient Silk Road. The app allows users to see 15 of these lanterns come to life and animate before their eyes. By holding their smart devices in front of a lantern marker, users can engage with the Silk Road legends and see the lanterns reveal compelling tales. The app also captures magical moments such as maps unfolding and genies emerging from lamps, creating an immersive and interactive experience. Lanterns Come to Life is optimized for any smart device and is recommended to be downloaded before entering the exhibit.
