French Word Wizard is an immersive French learning app that has been widely used in many French schools, with 26,000 units sold to date. This app is a French version of the award-winning Speak ‘N Spell for the iPad Generation by the New York Times. It includes a French Canadian voice and is designed to help children learn to read and spell French words by building them.

The app features a Talking Movable Alphabet activity that allows children to experiment with word building and phonics. It also offers three spelling activities of increasing difficulty that adapt to the child’s spelling level. The app comes with 200 built-in word lists, including words for beginners, 1,000 most frequently used words, and body parts. Users can also create their own word lists and import/export them.

The app offers many settings to adapt the activities to the child’s needs, such as letter size, assigning images to words, high contrast modes for kids with visual impairment, and more. Detailed spelling test reports per user are available and can be exported in PDF.
