Textures and lighting have been polished, load times are shorter, and seamless transitions between stages, giving this remaster a sense of refinement. The new expansion, Star-Crossed World, adds twelve remixed levels that encourage more exploration and puzzle-solving, as well as three new Mouthful Modes. However, the difficulty remains easy. 

Challenge seekers will appreciate the inclusion of Ultimate Cup Z EX, a boss rush mode in the Coliseum that pushes the combat system to its limits. Star-Crossed World also introduces fresh collectibles such as Starry Coins, which can be traded for new figurines, adding replay value for completionists. While these levels are creatively designed, they remain somewhat modest in scale, leaning more toward clever remixes than fully original worlds.

Handheld mode benefits from smoother frame rates but shows less dramatic changes, though the upgraded polish still helps maintain consistency. Some textures and assets remain relatively simple compared to other modern Switch 2 titles, yet the colorful, whimsical aesthetic ensures Kirby’s world remains vibrant and inviting.
