Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has launched the iTax Mobile App, a free Android application designed to simplify tax obligations for Kenyan citizens. The app aims to leverage the fast-growing mobile industry in Kenya to provide easy access to tax services. In its first phase, the app allows users to file NIL (Nil Income Tax) returns for various tax obligations, including VAT, Pay as You Earn (PAYE), Income Tax Company (IT2C), Income Tax Partnership (IT2P), Income Tax Individual (IT1), Monthly Rental Income (MRI) return, Turnover Tax, and Excise return. Moreover, the app facilitates payment registration for Monthly Rental Income (MRI) return, and the generated payment registration number (PRN) can be used to make tax payments through any agent commercial banks in Kenya or via mobile service providers such as M-Pesa and Airtel.

The iTax Mobile App is an excellent digital solution for Kenyan taxpayers to ease their tax obligations with convenience and accessibility.
