Hunt the Pale Gods, created by the indie developer Nick Papageorgiou for PC, is a roguelike, deck-building strategy game in which players must fight off fiendish entities using cards and discovering their synergies while building the most formidable deck to awaken and defeat the pale gods. 

With cosmic and horror elements based on the Lovecraftian genre, Hunt the Pale Gods delivers gripping gameplay through card-battling, dungeon crawling, and roguelike deck-builder mechanics. This 2D, turn-based title features procedural generation, introducing new elements in each playthrough and ensuring every session is different. 

Build the most powerful cards 

In Hunt the Pale Gods, you must hunt nightmarish creatures to collect cards and add them to your deck, allowing you to engage in more combats and increasingly challenging battles. Uncover which cards have the best synergy with one another with the help of looted ancient curios and utilize their combined abilities to defeat powerful bosses that await at the end of each level. 

The more powerful the enemies, the greater the chance they will drop high-tier cards, further strengthening your deck and preparing you for future challenges. This means your combination of cards has greater potential to eliminate the threats of the gods, each of whom has five different aspects: Primordial, Progeny, Abyssal, Umbral, and Eye. Each aspect features distinct enemy factions, mechanics, and card rewards. 

Overall, the game features more than 250 cards to build your deck with, over 120 curios to loot along the journey, control 11 mechanically distinct characters, roughly 40 events to carve your fate, and 13 powerful bosses that await at the end of each level. However, the game difficulty can be too challenging for casual players and might require extreme grinding to unlock new characters.
