Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is a multiplayer strategy game that lets you command multiple heroes, build up a castle, and explore a randomly generated map. It’s the prequel of the classic Heroes of Might & Magic franchise, delivering a modern reimagining of its beloved mechanics while introducing new twists. Developed by Unfrozen, it’s available on PC. 

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is similar to popular games like Tactical Breach Wizards, Limbus Company, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, and Wartales wherein it gives players a tactical strategy gameplay experience. This game engages you in a battle of wits with other players.

Explore a new world 

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era’s plot takes place in Enroth, on the continent of Jadame, mentioned but never explored in the Heroes of Might & Magic game before. In this game, you can traverse a world full of wonders and dangers, build magnificent capital cities, raise massive armies, and clash in epic, highly tactical battles of heroes and mythical creatures. 

Gamers can play solo with a new campaign, multiple single maps, and limitless random scenarios, or compete with other players — rivals or allies — in multiplayer mode. This game also has three multiplayer modes: Classic, One-Hero Mode, and Arena. Classic lets you manage heroes and castles, while in One-Hero Mode, hero’s survival is the key, and Arena focuses on direct combat.  

In this prequel, there is also an option to build your own story with the map editor tool. This game features six unique factions as well, each with distinct gameplay and abilities: Temple, Necropolis, Sylvan, Dungeon, and others. Players can fight on a hexagonal battlefield with new combat mechanics, including active abilities. However, as the game is story-driven with complex mechanics, the learning curve can be steep at first.
