A VR shooting game where you aim with your head

Gunjack has you controlling a gun turret on a spacecraft. Unlike most turret games before it, you get to control the turret with your head movements rather than your controllers. You only use your controllers to fire your weapons.

You have to look at something to aim your gun

Gunjack received a mixed reception when it was first released because some people didn't like the idea of aiming by looking at something, and some people really loved the idea of aiming by looking at something. Gunjack is a wave shooting game because you sit there and wait for waves of enemies to come at you. However, the fact you can move your head and look at something in order to aim at it is quite fun and was relatively new when this game was released. The gameplay does become a bit repetitive after extended periods of time when you start to see how some ships have identical attack patterns.

You have to decide according to your preferences

Considering the year that Gunjack was released and the relative lack of programming tools for VR devices, the developers did a good job of using what they had to create a passable game. However, some people cannot get over the fact that their controllers are only used for firing and not for aiming. Gunjack has done what few VR games have done before it, Gunjack has managed to find a new way to make a wave-shooting game interesting. It may become a little repetitive and silly after a while, but there are far worse games out there than this.
