GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- is an improvement on the original GUILTY GEAR Xrd fighting game. The GUILTY GEAR series is a very technical and complex series of fighting games, with well-oiled mechanics and an extremely experienced developer. It also features a story and setting with more than two dozen characters, and this game in particular features fantastically improved visuals over previous GUILTY GEAR titles.

Crossing That Bridge When You Get To It

GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- is notable, compared to other GUILTY GEAR titles, for letting you focus on the story. The Stylish control scheme makes playing the game much easier. It wouldn't work well against other players or for serious endeavours, but it allows even new players to progress through the story. You'll need to turn it off when you want to actually fight against others, though, as it's something of a crutch. And when you do, there's countless mechanics to learn: Bursts, Overdrives, Burst Overdrives... and you'll also learn why Stylish mode is a double-edged sword with serious drawbacks!

Don't Feel Guilty

If you enjoy fighting games, GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- should be on your list of titles to at least try. It has a sort of punk-anime aesthetic that means it might appeal to people who like other, similar-looking games as well, even if they don't like fighting games. Stylish mode provides an in for new players, and series veterans should play REVELATOR too.
