This free-to-play RPG will throw players into a dark medieval fantasy world where zombies run rampant throughout the forests. Your primary goal is to survive. However, you can take on much more ambitious goals as you play along.

Grim Soul's gameplay is similar to other wilderness survival games, such as Minecraft or Rust. You start alone in a forest, and you must hunt, gather items, and fight to survive. You will also build a fortress, which will save as your base when the night comes.

Grim Soul is a survival game that takes you to the wilderness of Plaguelands. Once a prosperous imperial province, it is now covered in fear and darkness. Zombies are everywhere, and you must fight your way to survive. To do so, you must collect material and craft items. You must also build a house, which will serve as your base during the night.

More than survival, the game also offers exploration. As you play, you can try infiltrating ancient dungeons and other survivors' castles to get more valuable resources. There is a huge arsenal of weapons that you can use, including morning star, halberd, and crossbow. Note, however, that when night ascends, the terrifying Night Guest appears. You have to flee to your home base to avoid dying and losing your inventory.

Grim Soul has an energy meter that limits the things you can do. Additionally, while it offers various maps, it has the look of a tabletop game rather than an RPG. The graphics are too dark, drab, and foggy to see anything. There is also not enough inventory space for your items. Finally, the various gameplay could be confusing to first-time players, especially since there's very little tutorial. 

Is the game good?

Overall, Grim Soul is a brutal dark fantasy title that you can play if you are looking for a hard and punishing game. It offers challenging yet fun gameplay that will make you work to progress. There are lots of things to do here, including exploration, crafting, and combat. However, for a game that offers a lot, your movements are pretty limited due to the energy meter.
