Gladiator fights is a bloody spectator sport invented during Roman times to entertain the wealthy. It involved violent duels against fellow gladiators, wild animals, and even condemned criminals. Many video games have taken inspiration from this, and GLADIUM is a fighting game that attempts to capture its brutality and high stakes with its challenging combat. It emphasizes quick reflexes and strategy to emerge victorious.

The game’s combat looks chaotic, but there's a method to the madness. Dodge and parry as you slowly hack away at your opponent with slashes and special attacks. You go into fights pretty much blind as weapons and gear are randomized, pushing you to constantly adapt how you play to different playstyles. Then, there are the enemies you need to "study" and figure out weaknesses to exploit.

Earn coins in the arena to purchase new weapons and shields and unlock helmets that offer various bonuses and perks. You can also spend blood(yes, blood) to unlock and customize special abilities. The game does have a steep difficulty, which might be too much for some. This is compounded even further by some game balance issues in some of the enemies and playstyles you'll face.
