Gang of Frogs brings us into the wide galaxy as players get to control a fearless outlaw frog aboard the SS Leviathan. In Gang of Frogs, you can either tackle adventures solo or explore the hand-crafted worlds full of dangers with friends. Each character in the game offers unique abilities that add to the chaos and style of every battle. Hop from one mission to another and dominate.

Frogs and guns galore 

Gang of Frogs prides itself on chaotic gunplay with quick, fluid, and deep combat progression. While the frog thing is a bit quirky, this shooter is not to be taken lightly as it delivers a guns-blazing action from the beginning to the end of every level. Moreover, there are multiple characters for you and your buddies to play as, each with unique abilities and guns to upgrade. 

In addition to the distinct combat, the game also features a mix of looting and upgrading systems, which incentivizes the chaotic gameplay for players as every kill drops important loot from enemies which can be used for upgrades and unlock skills, making your frog stronger for the further stages of the game. However, the game requires a constant internet connection to be played. 

The game supports a punky sci-fi aesthetic with frogs as a twist to the already unique take on a shooter. The enemies range from insectoids to creepy alien beings which escalate into a mega-monster at the end of each level, making you and your team play together to get past the horde and the boss itself. While the gameplay is unique, playing solo can be boring.

Gang of Frogs Playtest 

Gang of Frogs marks the largest update yet and opens a playtest for you to jump into. Sail the galaxy as an outlaw frog, facing monstrous bugs in a third-person shooter roguelike. Feel immediate improvements to the core loop, smoother progression, and cooperative chaos for one to four players, making every run feel more polished, accessible, and exciting from the moment you launch the game. 

Begin with a refined first-time experience that teaches mechanics clearly while keeping momentum strong. Here, you can follow narrative-driven questlines that introduce Gunther, Bono, and Rocco, unlocking cards, buffs, and permanent upgrades. Gain insight into the world and its tone, learning what it means to serve Hank, as systems unfold naturally through quests, shops, and steady progression that supports learning without overwhelming you during the initial sessions. 

Take note of seamless level flow replacing teleports, improved loot crates, new weapon models, wearables, audio polish, and a redesigned Leviathan hub, as you move smoothly between planets, shops, and combat while building power each run. The update feels ambitious and rewarding overall, but occasional balance issues during cooperative sessions can disrupt pacing, difficulty spikes, and encounter fairness for some players during longer play sessions, especially with randomized modifiers and scaling enemies. 

A hopping good time with guns 

Gang of Frogs delivers an exhilarating action shooter experience with its quirky frog protagonists and chaotic gameplay. The fast-paced combat, unique character abilities, and engaging in loot-based progression keep things exciting. While the constant internet requirement and a less compelling solo mode are drawbacks, the game shines in co-op play.
