Friend of a Slime is a premium action game developed by Chrio Games. It is a horde survival roguelike adventure set in a mystical forest wherein players will fight endless waves of enemies and survive through to the end in short but thrilling rounds. They will be aided by the powers of their quirky slime companions. Newcomers can also check out the demo version. 

Battle slime 

In Friend of a Slime, a horde of monsters is threatening the peace and safety of the Kingdom of the Holy Slime. Pick one from over 10 slime companions to take into battle, each with unique abilities and play styles as you fight more than 90 enemy types across 10 unique biomes. What's more, you can create unique builds with 40-plus items that boost or augment your powers in all kinds of ways. 

Each run lasts 10 minutes at a time, making it ideal for quick play sessions on the go. There's even local co-op gameplay so that you can face the horde together with a friend. With that said, the gameplay experience still feels rather limited and simplistic compared to its contemporaries. It could use more game modes or mechanics to help it become more interesting. 

Fleeting charms 

All in all, Friend of a Slime is a solid option to consider if you like Survivors-like games as it offers a similarly engaging gameplay, with charming visuals to boot. However, it really doesn't bring anything new that you haven't seen before, and lacks a bit of depth. Nevertheless, if you just want something simple and fun, this is worth checking out.
