FISH FEAR ME is an action game where players take the role of a fisherman and catch a wide variety of fish in the sea. Created by the indie developer HEATHER FLOWERS for PC gaming, this top-down perspective title indulges players in a peculiar fishing experience. 

Inspired heavily by the Vampire Survivors, FISH FEAR ME delivers the same roguelike and shoot-‘em-up mechanics, offering an action-packed playthrough set in the post-apocalyptic world. This non-linear sailing title is illustrated in 2D-pixel graphics, paying homage to the great games of the past and evoking a sense of nostalgia. 

Catch fish in various bodies of water 

In FISH FEAR ME, you step into the shoes of a fisherman with a starting boat, weapon, and ability. You must use these to navigate the vastness of different bodies of water, from Nightmare Lake’s placid waters to the Shadow Sea’s subterranean wastes, and capture diverse fish species. Sell them to other parties and earn money to upgrade the boat, unlock new weapons, and learn new abilities. 

Another way to earn in-game money is to hunt bounties. Be careful, though. Countless monsters lurk in the deep sea, waiting to snag you out of the boat into the water and drown you. Worst, a cosmic force of death, also known as the Leviathan, has its eyes on you, waiting for you to be on the water for seven continuous days to consume you. 

Alongside catching and selling fish, recruiting the caught fish into your skeleton army is also possible. Once you have built a strong force, hunt the Leviathan to become the all-time greatest battle-fisherman in the cosmos. However, the game has a few drawbacks, such as the absence of graphical options and save feature mid-level. In addition, it only has one soundtrack.

FISH FEAR ME offers a unique and action-packed fishing experience with its roguelike and shoot-‘em-up mechanics.
