Fend off the local wildlife
Fire at Campsite is a strategy game in which you play as a campfire in an attempt to stop the local wildlife from invading your peaceful campsite. It features abilities, characters, and dozens of builds for you to make use of at your disposal to scare those pesky animals away.
The core mechanic of Fire at Campsite plays out like a tower defense game, where endless waves of enemies will come at you, and you will have to survive the onslaught until the timer of the level runs out. This is a comical and light-hearted title.
Survive until daylight
In Fire at Campsite, the goal is to survive until 6 AM against waves of ferocious animals, as they will do whatever it takes to douse your flames and put you out for good. Luckily, you have a lot of special powers that you can utilize, and the freedom to choose from over 40 characters — each with their own unique playstyle.
There are also augments in this game to make your campfire’s abilities stronger, and you can even unlock new powers to turn the tide of the battle. With the skill tree, you can experiment with different combos and builds to see which ones work best for you. Although due to the vast amount of upgrades and skills, it definitely feels very overwhelming to understand all of them in one go.
Players who are completionists can rejoice as they have a lot of achievements to aim for, such as registering all wildlife species. You can also take a break from battling and enjoy the scenery at your campsite, and talk to other campers to discover new methods to strengthen your campfire. There is also a casino called Gyomyo’s Casino, where you can unwind and enjoy mini-games of all sorts.
A relaxing, yet intense camping game
Overall, Fire at Campsite is one of those strategic tower defense games that’s great for all sorts of players. It’s casual enough for the average gamer to enjoy, but poses some sort of challenge for those seeking it. The beautiful scenery and calming music blend well during battles, as they make it less stressful. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously and something that you can unwind to.
