Extinction Eclipse is an adventure game.  It's a space game where players take on the role of the commander of the human fleet tasked with exploring space to mine asteroids for valuable resources, construct bases and additional ships, and confront hostile alien invaders. 

Extinction Eclipse offers a rich and immersive experience with a storyline set in a fictional future where the Earth is facing a catastrophic drop in temperatures due to reduced sunlight. It is caused by a grid of gigantic hexagon-shaped objects constructed by an unknown alien intelligence at a gravitationally stable point in space called Lagrange L1.

Extinction Eclipse’s mission is clear and it is to build a powerful fleet of combat spaceships, destroy the alien grid, and eliminate the aliens responsible for it. The game features both a Story Mode and a Skirmish Mode to provide a varied gaming experience. In the Story Mode, you’ll embark on campaigns comprising multiple missions, unlocking additional campaigns as you progress. 

This allows for nonlinear gameplay and strategic decision-making. The Skirmish Mode enables you to configure the match according to your preferences, customizing parameters such as map size, objectives, initial fleet, and upgrades. The game generates a unique experience every time in this mode. Key features of the game include resource mining and management, base building, defending your bases from alien attacks, resupply missions, and an upgrade store.

Here, you can trade accumulated metals and water for ship upgrades, making your fleet faster, stronger, and more resilient. However, the game's strategic depth and resource management may pose a learning curve for some players, potentially leading to initial frustration. The constant threat of alien attacks can also be challenging, and players who prefer a more relaxed or casual gaming experience may find it intense.
