Everdale is a free simulation mobile video game wherein you can create a prosperous village. Developed by Supercell, this 3D world-building game offers peaceful farming sim and resource management mechanics as you try to create a lush utopian paradise amidst all the greenery.

Similar to Hay Day and The Settlers, Everdale is all about simply making a living and growing with a community without worrying about conflict with other players. In fact, this game features non-competitive co-op gameplay wherein you and other people work together to create a beautiful valley of villages.

Work with others to create paradise

Everdale started out as the early alpha version Valleys & Villages, which had been published under a different developer name in order to blindly gauge how well audiences would take to it—a wise decision considering that Supercell is well-known for war strategy games like Clash of Clans. Thus, the gameplay is mostly the same here. You start out building houses and resource centers in order to continuously grow your little village.

It’s not just about expanding your horizons, though. Your villagers have needs so you’ll have to gather ingredients, farm, and cook to support them as they do the chores you assigned to them. It’s not just all work and no play, though, as the game’s slow pace encourages relaxation and interacting with stuff outside of the city-building mechanics. It helps that you’re not alone in your playthrough.

You’re actually paired up with 9 other players inside a valley and can help each other with tasks to further your goals. You can even see each other’s progress in real-time. However, this also means that if your fellow valley members are inactive, you can get stuck with the co-op tasks. You can’t create your own valley and invite friends there—and you can’t easily leave your current valley either.

Could use some adjustments

All in all, Everdale is a great and promising title to the list of city-building games in your collection. While it could use a lot of tweaks to its co-op aspect, the management mechanics are pretty solid, and the classic Supercell 3D graphic style suits it. If you like to chill and check on your game’s progress every now and then, this is a highly recommended title to try out.
