Enhanced Landscapes is a free environmental overhaul mod for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SE that adds and enhances thousands of assets in Skyrim. It improves upon an already impressive landscape by adding objects like rocks and mountain objects. This mod does not remove any objects except water lilies.

Enhanced Landscapes requires a few Nexus Mods to run, such as Dynamic Distant Objects LOD and the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. Users looking to find alternative mods that overhaul the environment can consider Dave’s UFHD Mountains SE, which retextures mountains, and Ancient Land, which adds more fantasy-like objects to the world. 

Enhanced Mountains

This mod’s main feature is the enhanced and improved mountains. It adds thousands of objects into Skyrim, all with appearances optimized for viewing from a distance. AceeQ has completely overhauled the vanilla appearance of mountains and rock objects. At the same time, Enhanced Landscapes maintains the integrity of the original style. There are no objects removed, only optimized with supporting additions.

More Forests 

The original forests of this Elder Scrolls game were sparse, lacking the dense and realistic feel of a natural forest. This mod adds both pine and autumn forests into the Skyrim game. It also adds hundreds of trees all over the overworld and increases the size of existing trees. The mod’s creator increased the trees around Falkreath and adjusted the ones near The Rift. This area also now includes floral objects and improvements to smaller farms and settlements.

Hjaalmarch Overhauled

Vanilla Hjaalmarch was an area that lacked unique assets in the vanilla game. This mod adds ruins clutter and floral objects to create a place that stands apart from the rest. You have the option of either a ‘Barren Marsh’ or ‘Dead Marsh,’ to personalize this area. Barren marsh will remove all trees, and the other turns them into dead trees.

Beautiful Environments 

Enhanced Landscapes works with the Special Edition of Skyrim and is available on Nexus Mods for download. The mod creator, AceeQ, recommends that you use extra mods like Cathedral landscapes, Majectics Mountains, and Landscapes to get the most out of this mod.
