Doggo Quest is a quirky watercolor role-playing game about a lost nameless dog trying to find his way home. Created by an independent developer, Meebob, this game is only a demo of the game and features the entirety of the first level. This means that this is part of a larger storyline and will be expanded. As for this version, your goal is to make it to the end of the level.  

What is Doggo Quest?

Doggo Quest is an RPG loosely inspired by Undertale. With just 8 commands—including the WASD move keys—you must go on a long investigation of several mythical caves. The story begins with an introduction to the puppy. You’re informed that he spent his days eating treats and naps until he suddenly fell down in a ditch. Turns out, this is no ordinary ditch—it’s a portal that leads to many realms.

Each realm has different terrains, environments, and strange creatures you can make friends with. The game is a mixture of 2D side-scrolling and lateral movement; you can move forward, turn around, jump, and such. There are also individual objects to look at and you can investigate, check your items, and bark at stuff as a dog. Inside each portal, you will need to complete each course before advancing to the next one.

You will face multiple challenges in your exploration, such as solving puzzles. You can't really progress if you don't follow the story either—although fortunately, the plot is quite linear and easy to follow. There's not a lot of fail states or character death in this game apart from the boss battles so this is mostly a chill game. However, the demo can be pretty short so make sure to support the developer for the full version.

Quirky and casual adventure game 

Doggo Quest is a great game for players of any age—most especially for those who loved Undertale. The art style is beautifully quaint and reminds one of a nice storybook. The gameplay is also quite forgiving and leans more towards great storytelling, with hilarious dialogue between colorful characters. This is a highly recommended game for players who like story-driven adventures.
