Defense Zone 3 is a tower defense game, but the game style and warfare units are almost identical to the sort of thing you would see in late 90s games in an era when Command & Conquer set the standard for overhead strategy. You must destroy legions of enemies with your defense turrets.

Telsa towers and missile bunkers

Defense Zone 3 is a tower defense game and an overhead strategy game with visual effects, graphics and damage patterns that are very similar to the first Command & Conquer games, and this is going to tickle most nostalgia junkies. The downside is that Defense Zone 3 is a tower defense game with all the typically inherent flaws that such games have, which is a shame because if the game didn't progress with waves of enemies mechanic, then C&C fans may have loved it. Waves of non-stop enemies try to run through your area, and you have to stop them with missile bunkers and/or Telsa towers. You are able to pause the game and select areas for extra attack, which allows you to strategically batter your enemies and then pick off the remaining straggling groups.

Setting turrets to defeat waves of enemies

Defense Zone 3 has all the usual flaws that a tower defense game has, such as a finite number of completion methods, and a distinctly repetitive nature, and yet this game also suffers from a limiting gameplay style. It would be less limiting if you could place numerous different types of turrets in numerous different places, but the number of available turret locations are low and finite. It may have been more fun if one could set up different turrets with different weapons in order to mix up a defensive strategy, but that is not the case with this game because you may only choose between Telsa towers and missile bunkers.
