New look, new features

Players can revisit locations that are partially or completely reworked. Most of them are enhanced to give them a more overgrown look and feel fitting an apocalypse game. The houses are also changed and given new interiors and exteriors. It even has new lighting, such as street lights. On top of that, the DayZ Expansion Mod also makes base building simpler. It offers modular parts that optionally snap in place or are easy to combine.

DayZ Expansion Mod also expanded its selection of vehicles to include helicopters and boats. There are also several iconic ground vehicles from the DayZ mod era, such as Vodnik and tractor. More than a larger fleet, the mod also added new guns to the loot table, including M9, Benelli M4, RPG, and M16A4. To help you complete missions, planes will fly across Chernarus and drop supply packages at locations with valuable loot. The airdrops are made at random times, however, they aren’t that discreet. The Dayz Expansion Mod contains a ready-to-use mission file, which holds all needed central economy files. The mission comes in two variants; the ChernarusPlus and the ChernalusPlusGloom. If you want to use visual tweaks, like a custom ocean, use the ChernarusPlus. ChernarusPlusGloom, on the other hand, makes the game look more apocalyptic. Note that starting your server with the expansion mod for the first time can be harder as it requires lots of tweaking on specific files.
