New modes unlocked 

Days Gone – Broken Road DLC’s centerpiece is the Horde Assault mode, an arcade-style where players face escalating waves of Freakers and hostile survivors. This mode introduces a leveling system and 24 unique injectors that modify gameplay, offering new strategies for survival. Moreover, players can also experience the game with different characters, such as Rikki and Boozer. 

The Permadeath Mode offers a single-life playthrough of Deacon St. John's journey, where death means starting over. Additionally, the Speedrun Mode tasks players with completing the story as quickly as possible. However, this DLC lacks content which can be disappointing for players especially when this paid content could've been a free update. 

A gritty but limited expansion for Days Gone fans

With new challenges like Horde Assault and Permadeath Mode, the DLC caters to players craving high-stakes gameplay. However, the limited content and lack of substantial narrative additions may disappoint, especially considering the paid nature of the update.
