Fast-paced 2D platformer with robots
Corebreaker is a challenging action game from aQuadiun. This side-scrolling game lets you control Nova, humanity’s last hope in a world overrun by machines. Make your way through various levels and try to complete a run, or start all over again.
Featuring small and cute character designs but with precise controls and bullet-hell elements, Corebreaker is visually charming yet challenging. This is a perfect fit for people who liked Dead Cells, Skul: The Hero Slayer, or the gun-toting fun of Fury Unleashed. With roguelike elements and minimal system requirements, it’s a perfect break in between longer games.
Explore a post-apocalyptic world
Corebreaker is set in a world where humans were driven to extinction by machines, leaving a world where robots are in charge and nature reclaims the world. You now play as Nova and find your purpose in this post-apocalyptic world after the human extinction scenario awakens you. This storyline reflects strongly in the progression and set design, giving players incentives to complete their playthrough.
The game has four main biomes. Each of these environments has unique set and character designs. Epic boss fights await the player at the end of a biome, although first-time players will be surprised by their sudden appearances. Also, while the game is a roguelike that sends you back to the start with every playthrough, you get to unlock permanent abilities and weapons that help subsequent runs.
Lastly, this enjoyable game has minimal requirements for modern systems. It works with 2.0 GHz processors and 512 GB RAM graphics units, with at least 512 MB of storage needed. Aside from the challenges inherent among roguelikes, the only setback in this game is that the game has no scaling method to keep up with your unlocked abilities, making subsequent runs easier than the last.
A fun 2D action game to check out
Corebreaker offers a captivating post-apocalyptic adventure where players navigate a world reclaimed by nature and dominated by machines. With four unique biomes and epic boss fights, the game provides rich set designs and incentives for progression. Despite the challenge reset typical of roguelikes, permanent upgrades aid future runs. Minimal system requirements ensure broad accessibility, though the lack of scaling for unlocked abilities may reduce the challenge in later playthroughs.
