Ambulance Victoria has developed clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) to help our paramedics make the best decisions when they practice in the real world. The guidelines are based on the best available evidence from the scientific and medical literature and expert clinician opinion. They are intended to help our paramedics improve patient care and safety.

The guidelines are divided into different topics, including:

● The diagnosis and treatment of common medical disorders such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

● The management of common medical disorders that are not necessarily chronic in nature, such as acute liver failure, cardiovascular disease, and asthma.

● The pharmacology of common medications used in the treatment of medical disorders.

● The prevention of medical disorders.

● The diagnosis and treatment of pediatric disorders.
