Defeat monsters using color spectrum in this psychedelic action title
Chromocide: Prism of Sin is a psychedelic, dark fantasy action game developed by Backslash X for PC gaming in which the players take the role of a terrible sinner trying to atone for his sins by fighting monsters in an arena with ever-shifting colors.
Along with its roguelike mechanics that highlight procedural generation, Chromocide: Prism of Sin features top-down shooter and dungeon crawler elements, providing users with thrilling gameplay. This twin-stick shooter title also features a story-rich narrative and 2D-pixel graphics, delivering an immersive experience filled with action, emotion, and nostalgia.
Uncover the nature of your sin
Chromocide: Prism of Sin delivers a distinct and challenging playthrough utilizing the color spectrum. Here, shifting the colors changes your stats, altering the enemy factions’ vulnerability to your attacks. Devise strategies and make tactical decisions before the darkness takes over and more dangerous monsters come. Once this darkness settles in completely, you have to be ready. All hell breaks loose.
Take advantage of up to 120 colors across the color spectrum, each offering unique stats. While blending hues can provide various benefits, focusing on a single color offers special advantages. For example, all-magenta attributes boost footspeed, yellow attributes enhance defense, and cyan attributes increase the firing rate. Strategically leveraging these color-specific bonuses can give you the upper hand in battle.
Each run, some of which are burdened runs that make it more difficult than regular ones, is a step closer to unlocking items and more challenges. In addition, every completion of runs unravels the nature of your sin little by little. However, since the game features bright flashing imagery, it is unsuitable for those with photosensitive epilepsy. Meanwhile, it accommodates colorblind vision, making it perfect for people with color blindness.
Unique color spectrum-based game
Chromocide: Prism of Sin offers a unique and challenging gaming experience with its combination of roguelike mechanics, vibrant color-based strategy, and engaging narrative. Its intricate use of color to affect gameplay, with its thrilling twin-stick shooter and dungeon-crawling elements, keeps players on their toes. While the bright visuals might pose a challenge for those with photosensitive epilepsy, its accessibility for colorblind players makes it a well-rounded action game.
