Cave Story+ is a Metroidvania platform-adventure game released in 2004 on PC and later on Nintendo Switch by Nicalis. The game is set on a floating island inhabited by a race of intelligent rabbit-like creatures called Mimigas. The player controls the unnamed main character who wakes up in a dark cave without remembering who he is and where he came from. The objective is to explore the world, solve puzzles, and defeat enemies to save the world of Mimigas.

The game offers a classic 2D platformer experience with polished controls and an interesting setting. The player can use several types of weapons and gain experience points by defeating enemies. The + version of the game, released on Steam in 2011, features an alternative scenario that differs from the original English localization and an additional “Wind Fortress” level.
