Groundbreaking futuristic warfare
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 is an action game featuring advanced military arsenal and technology. Like all Call of Duty games, it sees the return of multiplayer mode, wherein two teams go head-to-head against each other to complete key objectives. The popular Zombies Mode is also back, which is a round-based survival mode pioneered by Treyarch, the game’s developer.
The campaign of Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 continues the main plot of the Black Ops series and features several iconic characters that fans are likely familiar with. This gritty dystopian first-person shooter is available on PC and consoles.
A chaotic dystopian experience
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 follows the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, where the plot takes place in the year 2035 — a slight leap forward in the timeline, so expect to see advanced weaponry. However, the futuristic approach of this title loses a lot of its original charm, as the franchise is known for its grounded and realistic experience, and less on the technological side of things.
Moving on to the online part of the game, the multiplayer experience brings back the usual game modes in the CoD franchise, such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, and is playable across 18 new multiplayer maps. The Omnimovement — first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 — sees a massive update to the movement mechanic, providing a much more fluid and smoother experience.
Players who wish to dive into the infamous round-based zombies mode are again plunged into the nightmare of the Dark Aether with new mysteries to solve and secrets to uncover. The zombie crew of Black Ops 6 is set to be the main cast again, but the classic crew from Call of Duty: World at War is also a playable option.
A bittersweet homecoming for seasoned veterans
Long-time fans of the Black Ops series — and in general, Call of Duty — will be shocked to see that Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 feels like a different game due to its sci-fi theme. While many aspects seem familiar, like the movement and game modes, it still feels weird with all the robots running around. It’s definitely a nod to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which also takes place in the future.
Pros
- New multiplayer maps and weapons
- New story and mysteries for Zombies Mode
- Return of iconic characters from past games
Cons
