BOXVR employs game play mechanic similar to many music games, such as Guitar Hero. However, instead of pressing a plastic guitar button at the right time, you're punching an approaching object in virtual space. A number of different modes are available to get you sweating. For those familiar with fitness games, there is the now-common virtual fitness instructor workout to keep you on track. There is also the option to play your own music and have the game automatically generate a workout to match the tempo of your songs. Finally, there is also an "endless runner" mode in which the game just keeps throwing things at you and your objective is to last as long as you can.

Being a fitness game, the best thing that can be said about BOXVR is that it works. And it does. Perhaps too well. You will find yourself having fun, exhausted, struggling to remain upright, and yet still wanting to play more.
