Balrum is a turn-based fantasy game which enables players to construct villages, grow crops, build armies and defend civilizations against outside threats. Although created in 2016, its retro appeal will prove to be very attractive to fans of more traditional RPG games. While impressive in regards to action, the main intention of this game is to employ the correct long-term strategies in order to outwit other opponents. This is a single-player platform developed for personal computers.

Plot and Strategy

Balrum is set within a region known as Darkwood. Unfortunately, it seems that these woods hold some disturbing and mysterious secrets. This is a realm without laws that tends to be defined by chaos as opposed to order. It is therefore the role of the player to protect his or her assets with a wealth of unique resources. There are a number of ancillary quests to be experienced alongside the primary goal. These can help to gain experience points over time.

Additional Features

There are three possible endings associated with Balrum; each depending upon the strategy of the player. Unique skills include construction, farming, taming livestock, creating customized items and dealing with the weather. Therefore, this game is very realistic in terms of the challenges that will need to be overcome.
