Attack on Titan - Fan Game is a free action game developed by Swammy. This game allows players to experience the thrill of slaying titans using ODM gear. However, unlike the official game Attack on Titan / A.O.T. Wings of Freedom, this fan-made game gives players a first-person POV. 

Attack on Titan - Fan Game started out as an experiment by an indie developer, but it has since grown into a fully functioning game after going viral on TikTok. The game features several maps to slay titans in, including the classic Trost district, a forest, and even a Minecraft-inspired map. 

Incredibly satisfying combat

Zipping through the air, slashing at a Titan’s nape with sharp blades, and watching the Titan fall to the ground is a satisfying experience that Attack on Titan - Fan Game gets right. Going from one roof to another or zooming past titans feels smooth and the controls are easy to learn. Some animations standout as being awkward but it doesn’t take away from the exciting combat. 

This fan-made game is fun to play alone, but it's even better when played with friends. As the game supports multiplayer, you and your friends can jump into a map and take down hordes of titans together. You can train on dummies or fight real titans that have different behaviors. The several maps that are available each have a distinct atmosphere but they can feel empty. 

For a fan-made game, this one is relatively rich in features, but it’s still pretty lean. Also, there are plenty of immersion-breaking things such as titans popping into existence and several janky animations.The game has several modes but they aren’t enough to prevent the game from feeling repetitive. These are all to be expected, though, and can be forgiven given how fun the gameplay is.

Unpolished but otherwise fun

Players can’t expect Attack on Titan - Fan Game to have the same polish premium games have. It’s rough around the edges but what it accomplishes remains commendable considering how it was created. The combat is satisfying and the graphics are decent. If you’re an Attack on Titan fan who just wants to have fun slashing titan napes, this game won’t disappoint.
